A House of Cards

It is almost Halloween...

and we are starting to get ready. David and the kids carved their pumpkins. Here they are, hard at work.
They turned out really cute.

I didn't do mine yet. I will be getting it done tomorrow, I hope.

Today is David's birthday. So we had a little birthday dinner for him when he got home this evening. He saw a cake in a magazine, so I made it for him from scratch. It turned out OK, but I think I need to work on my baking skills. ;)

I made this little Halloween card for my dh. Pretty simple and easy. He seemed to like it. (The letters are really orangish/red, but they look more red in the photo.)

Well, that is it for me tonight. I will probably post again this week, because I have a few more cards to share, I just need to take some photos.

Thanks for stopping by!

I've been tagged!

Thanks for tagging me, Kandis! For this tag, I have to list some random facts about myself. I hope you don't get bored listening to me babble. Here goes:

1. I go to Starbucks for a grande two pump white chocolate mocha almost every day. It's an addiction, I tell ya! But really the only one I have, besides shopping for scrappy stuff.

2. I love big dogs. No little yippy dogs for me. I have a Great Dane and an English Mastiff to prove it.

3. I am watching the Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV right at this moment. Not really my choice, but it is kind of entertaining.

4. I love Webkinz.com. I play on it everyday to help get my kids KinzCash.

5. I am a room mom and a soccer mom. (It's all about the kids.)

6. I have a terrible sweet tooth. I must have something sweet or sweet and salty before bedtime.

7. I am a TV junkie. I watch way too many shows. Thank goodness for the DVR!

Now I get to tag some people! Here's the rules:

Instructions:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).

3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.

4. Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

If you have not already been tagged, I am tagging YOU. If you do decide to list some random facts about yourself, please let me know, so I can come read more about you.

I also got an award this week from Jo.

Thanks so much! I think I am supposed to pass it along and nominate some other blogs, so again I am nominating everyone who read this, because I sure do appreciate you coming by to check out what I have been creating. Please let me know if you have stopped by and I will return the love.
Thanks for stopping by!

I am now...

one of the card designers over at Sketch This: Cards! blog. Thanks so much, Janelle, for giving me this awesome opportunity! There are so many wonderful sketches there to help jumpstart your creativity, and so many wonderful ideas. Here is my take on this week's sketch.

I used the new Scenic Route Salem line for this card. This has to be one of the cutest Halloween lines around!

I also have some Provo Craft projects to share. This month I was asked to use my Cuttlebug for one. I just love the script embossing folder. It adds so much dimension to any papercrafting project. I also used the funky circle frames, asterisks, and Olivia alphabet. So many wonderful dies to choose from! I also went a little sewing crazy on this one, which is SOOOOO easy for me to do.

I also got to play with their new Felt Fashions line. I LOVE this stuff!!! It is really heavy duty, not flimsy in the the least. And there are a bunch of cool shapes and color combos. My favorite is the green/purple/teal. Love, love, love these colors. I made a couple of monogram friendship bags. I think these turned out really cute. They are small and would be perfect for little gifts or gift cards. Christmas is right around the corner... ooooh, the possibilities... ;)

My last project is a card using the Destinations: Road Trip paper line and new chipboard. These papers are perfect for a masculine or a travel-themed project. And the new chipboard... OH MY! Love this stuff! So many cool shapes.

Well, that is it for me today. Thanks for coming by and taking a peek! I sure do appreciate all of your sweet comments. Hugs!

Some exciting news to share!

I am a cover girl! One of my cards made the cover of Paper Crafts November 2007 issue. It's the Holly Jolly Christmas card on the right. (I snagged this image from the PC website.)

I am so excited about it. It is the very first time I have been on the cover of anything. I secretly tooted about it back in June, and it was torture not spilling the beans. Thanks for listening to me toot again!

Well, I can't believe it is already October. The temps are starting to drop just a little, it is a little breezier, and it is starting to look a little like fall. My kids are constantly talking about what they want to dress up as for Halloween. So I decided to get the mood going and I made a fun, little Halloween mini album.

For this, I used the Friends chipboard kit that was made by Magistical Memories especially for Lifetime Moments for their Fifth Anniversary celebration. I just love the fun little chipboard pieces include in the kit, esp. that skull and crossbones. Just way too cool!
Also, this weekend is the Simply Southern Scrapbook Convention in Huntsville, AL. Magistical Memories is going to have a booth there, and I will be there with them. So if you happen to be going, stop by and say hi. I will be there Friday and Saturday.
Hope you all have a wonderful week/weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
