A House of Cards

Hello there...

Remember me? Sorry I haven't been around lately. I just haven't had a lot to post. I do have a few things to share today, though.

I have been working with the March kit for my LSS, Scrapbook Mania. I got to work with My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow "Grow" line. I always love MME, so this kit was so easy to work with. The colors were right up my alley! I managed 3 layouts and 2 cards and I used up most of the kit with just a few little bits left over. Love it when that happens!

I did a lot of inking on the paper frills, since only orange came in the kit. It is a quick and easy way to add color to your projects. Very cost effective too, if you already have the ink pads.
Another thing I did was to paint the letter stickers in the "puppy love" layout using green acrylic paint. Just place them on a piece of wax paper and lightly dab them with a sponge brush. A great way to help you use up all those letter stickers you have that are not quite the right shade or color for you project.
Well, that is all for me today. Thank you all so much for stopping by! :)

Spring is in the air...

It is Spring Break here, and I have been taking it easy. We were supposed to go out of town, but we had to cancel out trip. Long story short, we are sticking close to home trying to make the best of a bad situation. Yesterday we went to our local state park, which is only about 5-10 minutes from our house and traipsed around the woods. And tomorrow, we are going to my husband's family cabin to play in some more woods. I hope to take lots and lots of pictures.

Well, enough of that... let's get to some scrapbooking stuff.

This week, I am excited to share that I was asked to be the guest designer over at Pencil Lines sketch challenge blog. I was given an awesome sketch to work with. Here is what I came up with using Pencil Lines sketch 126:

I usually have a hard time with layouts, but the sketch made it sooooo much easier. Thank you Annie and the rest of the Pencil Lines team for allowing me to play along this week! I had so much fun! :)

It's been about two weeks since I posted the card challenge. I want to thank Kathy and Jolene for playing along. They did a great job with the Sketch This sketches. You can see their awesome cards by clicking the link on their names.

Kathy and Jolene, please send me your mailing info, and I will get a little something out to both of you. Thanks so much for taking my challenge!

Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Do you like a challenge?

Can you believe it is March already? Where does the time go? I have no idea. I wish it would slow down a little though. I don't have a whole lot to share this week. I've been cutting back lately. I guess if I can't slow down everything around me, I can slow myself down and try to enjoy everything in my world a little bit more. Do a few things just for me. ;)

One of the things I do for myself is make a card each week for the Sketch This blog. I love designing with Janelle's sketches. It is something fun I do because I want to. And I get to use any and all products... no limitations or restrictions.

Here are my Sketch This cards from the last two weeks.

Working with sketches takes all of the hard work out of creating leaving just the fun stuff... mixing and matching products. Nothing better than putting together different colors and textures. Love it! :)

So, how about a little challenge?

Make a card using one of Janelle's sketches over at the Sketch This blog. Any one... it doesn't matter which. Mix and match your products... how about a minimum of 5 different manufacturers? And just for me, make it colorful with lots of texture. No flat cards. ;)

All you need to do is link up your creation in the comment section and let me know which sketch you used. (Link them up over at the Sketch This blog too. We all love to see your creations using the sketches!) I will send out a little prize to one lucky person for playing along. How about we give everyone a little time... about two weeks, because I know everyone is so busy nowadays.

Hope you all can take a little time and play along. Thanks for stopping by! :)
