A few last minute Christmas cards...

I wanted to share a few Christmas cards I made using the Joyride collection from Collage Press.

For my first card, I used a journaling card as a tag and dressed it up with alphabet stickers for the sentiment. A very quick and easy card. Perfect for the busy holidays.

Collage Press products:
Joyride Cheery & Bright, Little Flurries, and Peppermint Twist patterned paper
Joyride Journaling Cards
Joyride Alphabet Cardstock Stickers
Joyride Chipboard Stickers

For my second card, I focused on the fun die-cut shaped paper. It is actually from the Sweet Shoppe collection, but it works so well with the Joyride collection. Then I just added some chipboard and journaling cuts, and I cut out a few peppermint shapes from the patterned paper to adorn the tree.

Joyride Little Flurries and Peppermint Twist patterned paper
Joyride Journaling Cuts
Joyride Chipboard Stickers
Sweet Shoppe Pink Lemonage Die-Cut Zig Zag patterned paper
That is all for me tonight. If I don't make it back before Friday, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

A little Pink Paislee for you...

Thought I would stop by and share my Pink Paislee projects with you for this month.

For this first project is a Christmas one. I decorated some old ribbon spool to make Christmas ornaments. Not a new concept, but a first time one for me. I used the Mistletoe & Co. collection, and I just love the way they turned out.

This next project I did for the Pink Paislee blog. My theme this month was Friday Feelings. For this, I decided to put the focus on my journaling with stitching. I used my sewing machine and underlined my journaling, then added a few zigzag stitches for fun. I used the Cupid collection and Expressions Alphabets. I am in love with the colors of this collection.

I have more projects to share, so be on the lookout. Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Sale at Purple Onion Designs

Just wanted to pass along news about a sale and giveaway that Michele over at Purple Onion Designs is having. The following message is copied and pasted, so please be sure to follow the link to the Purple Onion Designs blog, because that is where you will have to leave a comment for the giveaway. Good luck and happy stamping! :)

**********************************************************

Sale Countdown Giveaways!

There are 5 more days left to the Holiday Sale. I realized in rushing to get the new stamps finished, put up on the website and running the sale that I never did a giveaway. Shame on me! So, this is what I came up with. Let's spread the word about the last few days of the sale. Sunghee made up this adorable blinkie a few days ago.

25% off all stamps till December 15th!!

Put the blinkie up on your blog, website, in your signature or wherever else it can be posted on the internet. Tell your readers that the sale is 25% off all stamps till December 15th. Encourage them to also post the blinkie and sale information. The more the merrier, right? In this case, the more sale blinkies posted the more stamps to be given away.

Then come back here and leave a comment with a link to where you have posted the blinkie. I will then randomly pick one name for every fifteen posts (since the sale ends on 15th and there are 15 days till Christmas). The winning names will receive a little holiday stamp prize package which will include one of the new logo stamps.

You have until Sunday December 13th at midnight to leave a comment on this post with your sale blinkie link. Good luck!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to share a few projects with you all before turkey day arrives, and it just gets too hectic. I made some Thanksgiving-themed projects using some new stamps by Purple Onion Designs.

Some fun, little cake/pie toppers:

Aren't the bears and turkey just the cutest?! :)

Thanksgiving treat bags:

and of course, a card:

And I have to say that the noteblock stamp is my favorite. I can just see using this stamp for so many different types of projects.
Well, that is it for me today. I hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Think outside the box...

Literally! With the holidays just around the corner, I decided to focus my blog project for Pink Paislee this month on Christmas gifting. If you are anything like me (and I am sure some of you are), you wait until the VERY last minute to get something together for the teacher, the bus driver, the mailman, etc. I am terrible about that. The bad thing is that when it is time to actually get something together, it is usually the night before and too late to go the store to buy a card or gift box/bag. So, I decided to show you how to get a little creative.

For the gift box, I used the clear container from one of my Winsome Chipboard packs. I just cut off the little hang tab, and decorated it with paper, a die-cut, and Borderlines clear sticker from the Mistletoe and Co. collection. I also added a little candy and ribbon, and it is all ready to go.

Since I was going with a clear packaging, I decided to make a matching card. I used the clear cover from one of the Winsome sticker books for the card base. Added paper, a rub-on, and canvas patch from the Mistletoe and Co. collection also. I cut the tree from the canvas patch out to use on the front of the card. (I am planning on using the frame of the patch on a later project. ;) ) I then added some ribbon and a gem to finish off the card.

Pink Paislee products used- Mistletoe and Co: North Pole, Reindeer Games, Patches, Borderlines, Press Ons, Punchouts

I hope you will keep this project in mind when you are looking to make up a quick little card and gift box for someone on your Christmas list. You really don't have to look any farther than your own scrapbook stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

happy birthday to you?

I don't know about you , but I seem to have a lot of friends and family that have a birthday day this month, so it got me inspired to make a project with a birthday theme.

For this tag, I got out my Shimmerz Spritz in Sea Foam and Olive Branch to make a background on a white tag. I spritzed the tag first with the Sea Foam. I didn't do even coats, because I wanted some areas to be darker than others. Then, I took the top off of the Olive Branch Spritz, dipped a brush in it, and splattered the spritz liberally leaving spots and drip marks. When it dried, I got a beautiful shimmery background to work with.

Next, I painted the flowers with Shimmerz in Angel Wings to give them a bit of sparkle.

Then, I added some patterned paper and embellishments, and voila! A handmade tag, perfect for adding to a gift for someone special.

I hope this inspires you to get out your Shimmerz Spritz and try making a beautiful shimmery background for your next project.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Shimmerz Pink Project

I know... I said I didn't think I would be back before the weekend, but I got working on this project yesterday and I wanted to make sure to post it before the end of the month.

At Shimmerz this month, we wanted to highlight Pink Projects in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I decided to make a card.

I used Shimmerz in Magenta to paint the chipboard letters and a little bit of Shimmerz in Angel Wings to add a little bit of shimmer to the flower. (I know that you can't really see the shimmer on the flower... and I apologize for that. I am still learning how to photograph these shimmery projects. ;) )

I hope this card inspires you to make your own and help to lift the spirits of someone battling this terrible disease.
Don't forget there is still time to upload your Pink Projects using any pink Shimmerz product to the Shimmerz Flickr Group. More details can be found here.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spooky...

Just thought I would hop on here to post a little card I made for the Pink Paislee blog this week. My theme was stamping, so I whipped out my Twilight Impressions stamp set, along with some Twilight papers and Expressions chipboard, and used the little postage stamp to create eyes/O's for my sentiment.

Very quick and easy to do. Not expected and totally fun!

That's it for me tonight. Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Shimmerz and CPS

I was so excited to learn that Shimmerz was the sponsor for CPS this week. Cards are my favorite thing to make and I absolutely love working with sketches, so this was right up my alley! :)

Here is my take on this week's sketch:

For the title, I painted some plain chipboard leatters with Shimmerz in Tickle Me Turquoise. I gave them a good 4-5 coats so the chipboard did not show through.

I also painted the flower with Shimmerz in Key Lime. This gave it just a hint of shimmer and sparkle.

I hope you all get a chance to break out your Shimmerz and play along with the sketch over at CPS this week. It's a fun one!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Are you in a Halloween kind of mood?

Recently I was asked to play along with this week's sketch over at the Get Sketchy blog. I had so much fun with the sketch that I ended up making two cards. I kept with a Halloween theme for both, but one is more of a "pretty" card and other one is more "fun".

First is my "pretty" card. I used paper and a die-cut from Pink Paislee's Twilight collection. I love, love, love this line!

I painted the tips of the flower with Shimmerz Vintage Wine from the new Fall Vintage Collection. It adds just the right amount of color and shimmer to the flower.

Next is my "fun" card. For this, I also used paper and glitter chipboard from Pink Paislee's Twilight collection.

I used Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice, also from the new Fall Vintage Collection. I sprayed in on the chipboard bat pretty generously, and it pooled towards the bottom of the bat giving it a shimmering eeriness. I love the way it turned out!

Well, that is it for me today. Hope you my little cards help to get you in the Halloween spirit. Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Some fun news and a layout to share

Hey everyone. How have you been? Lots going on here. Mostly with kids/school/softball though. I suppose most of you are busy with things of that nature right now. Fun, fun, fun!!!

Recently I was asked to join the Shimmerz design team. Now, I am not a super technique-y kind of person, but I really thought it would be fun, I would get to work with some great products, and I might just learn a thing or two. So how could I say no?! ;)

The layout I have to share with you today is about my daughter, who LOVES music. She her CD player or iPod and headphones wherever she goes. I used tons of Pink Paislee goodies. A mix of items from at least four of their collections. A little Amber Road, Twilight, Mistletoe & Co., and Winsome Fascinating. Who knew they could all blend so well together?!

I also used some Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice from the new Fall Vintage collection. I just love the color and shimmer it added to the chipboard stars!

Well, that is it for me today. Hope you enjoyed this project, and thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Hello :)

Long time, no see. I haven't been here for a while, so I figured it was time to head on over and post. It seems like most of the things I have been working on lately I can't really share yet. But I do have a couple of Pink Paislee projects to show you.

Both of my projects for Pink Paislee this month used the new Amber Road collection. This is a really beautiful line. A definite must-have!

The first project is a shadowbox I made for my front entryway. I have been wanting to do a project like this for some time now, and I finally got around to it.

I really love how elegant these papers look, and I absolutely love the font of the new Expressions Glitter Alphabet.

My other project for the month is an envelope mini. This is a project made for the Pink Paislee blog. My theme for this month is Friday Feelings.

You can check out the whole project here.

Well, that is it for me today. I hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just trying to recover...

we have the sickness at our house. It is making it's way through each of us, one by one. The kids have each missed a day of school because of having a fever. Pretty much just bad colds, but enough to make you feel yucky and worn out.

I don't have a ton to share of new stuff to share, because I haven't been creating much. Just can't get motivated to sit at my scrappy desk and do anything. I do have my second batch of Two Peas August GGG projects that I forgot to share earlier, so these may be new to you. ;) The theme this month was patterned paper.

(You can click on the project title links to see more photos and close-ups of the projects over at Two Peas.)

First up is must love big dogs, a layout I did about my love for big dogs. I had lots of fun with the patterned paper strips and color on this one.

Next up is bloom. For this card, I cut the letters and bee out of patterned paper and added some fun stitches.

Next is a backpack tag I made for my younger daughter, Harper. I cut out the circles and bird from patterned paper and did a little crazy stitching. This was fun, because I didn't have to try and make the stitching look perfect.

Last up is another card, grow. For this I used a large bingo card and folded it in half for the card base. I cut out the letters and star, and adhered some patterned paper underneath. The title was just screaming for some color. ;)

Well, that is it for me today. Hope you all have a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you...

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for sharing your sympathies over the loss of our dog, Razzy. It really meant so much. I get so attached to my pets, it hurts to see them go. But, I am so grateful that he was a part of our family and I think he was happy to be a part of it too. :) So thank you again.

I have a few things to share today. First off is a fun, little project I made for the Pink Paislee blog last week. The theme was Tasty Tuesday. It is an altered lunchbox tin I made for my daughter to carry her snacks in.
I didn't get a chance to make any projects using the new Cupid line for CHA, because we were going out of town, so that was the very first thing I grabbed for to make this project. This line won't be available until December, so I am sorry to tease you with this beautiful new product. But I really couldn't help myself. ;)
I also wanted to share my latest Sketch This cards.
The first is using sketch #89:
The next is using sketch #90:

I have so much fun with these sketches. They take all of the hard work out of making cards and let me have fun mixing and matching products and colors. Gotta love that! Hope you get a chance to play along.

Well, that is it for me today. I will be back later in the week to share the rest of my Two Peas GGG projects. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Some fun (and no-so-fun) news to share...

Hello! Long time, no see. I have been a little bit busy with projects, some family things, and getting ready for school to start. (First day is Thursday!) Thought I would jump on here and share with you all.

The fun news:

I was very surprised and happy to be asked to be the Guest Garden Girl over at Two Peas this month. When I got the email, I really thought they had sent it to the wrong person. But, I decided not to ask if they had made a mistake and jumped at the chance! :) The theme for this month is patterned paper. I LOVE to work with patterned paper, so I had an easy time working on my projects.

(You can click on the project title links to see more photos and close-ups of the projects over at Two Peas.)

For this it's a good life card, I enhanced the polka dots in the paper with hand stitching. I also cut out the tree and popped it up with foam adhesive for an embellishment with added dimension.

For this oh happy day gift wrap project, I covered a small box with patterned paper and used strips of patterned paper to make the bow. I really loved the way it turned out. A little time consuming, but still very easy to make.

For this to grandmother's house we go mini album, I had a lot of fun mixing and matching patterned paper for the cover, but kept the inside simple to put more focus on the photos.

For this sweet layout, I used colorful strips to frame the photo of my youngest daughter. I love the punch of color and pattern against the more neutral background.

I will have some more GGG projects to share after the 15th, so I will make sure to post them here too.

---------------------------------------

The not-so-fun news:

On a bit of a sad note, (I hope you don't mind me sharing) we recently lost one of our beloved pets... our sweet boy, Razzy. He was a big part of our family, and we all have had a hard time with losing him. This is the first real loss that my kids have had to go through, so it has been a little rough. We will always miss him.

--------------------------------------

I appreciate you letting me share (the good news and the bad). Thanks so much for stopping by. Hugs!
