A House of Cards

I am long overdue...

for a blog post, so here we go.

Not too much exciting happening in my neck of the woods. The kids started soccer last week, so now we have three nights a week tied up for practices. When games start it will go to four. UGHHH! I love for my kids to be involved in extracurricular activities, but it's hard when it ties up so much of our time. And from what I hear, it is only going to get worse as they get older. Guess I better just get used to it and enjoy the ride, huh? ;)

Today I have a few things to share. Do you ever use the same technique or similar supplies on cards? Well, I do. (Sometimes not even realizing it.) I made up my Sketch This card for this week,

and I was so proud of myself for not waiting until the very last minute. I sent it to Janelle and went about my day. Well a little later I was organizing some things, and I put this week's and last week's cards side by side.

Duh! I basically made the same card as last week. It had a different theme, but was pretty much the same. The layouts were similar, I tied the ribbons the same, the stitches were pretty much the same, the card shape was the same. Oh well... I guess when you like certain techniques, you tend to do them over and over, huh? So, forgive my oversight. I will try to change it up next week.

Well I need to get some chores and projects done today, so I better get my butt off the computer and get moving. Thanks for stopping by!

I have some new thing to share...

Lime Tart kit club has three new kits up for July. Wish I could have worked with all three of the kits this month. ;) The design team did an amazing job, as usual. You should definitely check out all three galleries: Full Tart, Half Tart, and A La Tarte.

Here are my projects for this month using the Full Tart.

Let me tell you, that kit was jam-packed with goodies. YUMMY! :)

You can purchase the Lime Tart kits in the U.S. through Odd Bird Planet. Don't forget to check out all of their cute stamps too. Here is one of their new release stamps.

Isn't it adorable?!

Well, I need to head off to bed. I hope you are all having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

School is back in session...

and am I a bad mom because I am enjoying the peace and quiet? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my kids and I love them being around, but I was so ready for a break. I think they are happy being back in school and hanging out with their friends too. So, it's all good. ;)

You are all a fan of Janelle Richmond's Sketch This blog sketches, right? (Me too!) Well, you may not know this, but Janelle is on the Magistical Memories design team, and she has a sketch challenge over at the Magistical Memories message board. Twice a month she posts a new sketch. The fun part is that if you create a project using the sketch and post it over at Magistical Memories on the sketch challenge thread and in the gallery, you will be entered into a drawing to win free chipboard. What could be more fun than that!

Check out Janelle's sketch here. (If you are not a member of the message board, you may need to register.) If you want to play along, post your creation by August 15th. If you don't have time for this one, make sure to check back on the August 16th for the new sketch.

I got a chance to play this time around and this is what I came up with:

I used the new Expression Blurb chipboard set. I just love the fun, layered shapes!

I also recently made this little baby card using the Lil Elephant chipboard by Magistical Memories. I made a plaid giraffe not too long ago, and I thought he could use a "little plaid friend". ;)

Speaking of Janelle, she also has a new sketch up over at the Sketch This blog this week. There is lots of great inspiration on how to use the sketch too by Sketch This design team. Come check it out. Hope you get a chance to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really appreciate all of the comments you post. You are all so sweet! Hugs!
