A House of Cards

I'm back again today...

and pretty tired. I got up a few times last night and ended up sleeping on the couch. No, I am not on the outs with my husband. I had a sick baby... furbaby, that is. My poor boy was throwing up all night. Not fun. A sick great dane is nothing like a sick chihuahua. They make a WAY bigger mess. Oh, the joys of owning a large breed! I really wouldn't change a thing though. I love my big dogs.

Speaking of dogs, a new friend of mine, Nina, sent me a couple of stamps that she designed for October Stamps. You should definitely go check out her blog. She has such a fun and colorful style. She makes the cutest cards. Anyway, she went out of her way to send me one in particular that she designed that I just loved (Thanks Nina!)... a little puppy holding a flower in its mouth (Bengt med blomma). I just LOVE this stamp. It is just too cute! I got a chance to play with it yesterday, and this is what I came up with.

I am not much of a stamper, so about all I know how to do is stamp on different colored papers and paper piece. But I really did enjoy making this. Some day I will try and work on my stamping skills. ;)

I modeled this puppy after my own (see the beginning of this post). His name is Razzy, and he is such a sweetheart. These pictures are a few years old, but he still looks pretty much the same.

Well, that is all for me today. I want to thank you all for stopping by. I really appreciate your sweet comments. Have a great day! Hugs!

Well...

it's been a while. (I say that a lot, don't I?) I thought I was going to make it back the day after my last post, but I didn't. I did have sort of a good reason though. It was David's and my wedding anniversary. We hit the 15 year mark. Amazing, isn't it? I guess I picked a good one. ;) We took a trip to Atlanta (with the kids). Not very romantic, but we had a great time as a family. We went to the Georgia Aquarium and the Coca Cola Museum, had some really good food, and stopped at IKEA on the way home. We spent way too much money for a short weekend, but you only live once, right? ;)

I guess I can share my March Self-Addressed projects with you. It is way past then. For some reason, they haven't gone up on the site yet. Technical difficulties, I guess.

This kit is so pretty. I love the colors and patterns. I hope you do too. I am not normally a "yellow" kinda person, but I really am starting to like using it more and more. Seems like there are quite a few lines with yellows lately.

That's it for me today. I hope you are all having a great week so far. Thanks for stopping by!

Yesterday was...

a good mail day. I received my copies of Paper Crafts: Gifts from the Heart Special Issue. So many wonderful projects in there! I was lucky enough to have three of mine included. Here is one that I made:

It is a monogram lunchbox that I made for my daughter. Everything (but the paint) is by Provo Craft. This was very quick and easy to make, and my daughter just loves it. She is glad to have it back. ;)

Well, that's it for me. I will probably be back tomorrow, so have a great day!

How was your weekend?

It was rainy here on Saturday, so we went out and did a little bit of shopping, then spent the day relaxing. Gotta love rainy days! Sunday was sunny and warm, so went out for lunch, then came home to work in the yard. We spread pine straw in the flower beds, and I started cutting the grass. We have a pretty large yard, so I only got part of it done. I need to go out and work on it some more today.

Today, I have a few Creative Cafe goodies to share. I made these projects for the Art Bar. If you have a scrapbook store in your area that carries Creative Cafe (hopefully you do :) ), you can find these and many other wonderful project ideas.
The Hello Spring card is a Happy Hour project for March.

The Mom card and A Quick Note card set are Happy Hour projects for April.

That's it for me today. Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Today was a pretty quiet day...

until the tornado sirens started going off. That is one thing I don't like about living in the South. I know that tornadoes can happen pretty much anywhere, but it seems like they happen a lot in this region. The county decided to send the kids home early from school because of the weather, but not early enough. They ride the bus home, so as I was waiting... the weather started getting worse and worse. It was thundering and lightning, the wind was whipping... and then it started to hail. That had me scared! I called the school to see if they held them at the school, but they hadn't. YIKES! After what seemed like forever, they finally made it home safely and we headed down to the basement for a bit. I think I am going to start picking them up at school on bad weather days from now on. I can DEFINITELY get them home quicker than the bus, and I would feel much better if they were with me rather than someone else.

Well, I don't have a ton of new stuff to share, but I do have a card that I made using one of Janelle Richmond's sketches from over at Sketch This and Sketch This: Cards. She is combining her sites, and she is putting together a new team. I wish I had thought to post this earlier. (Ooops! Bad me!) Hope you all got a chance to try out. She does some really awsome sketches, and it is so fun to play along. Be sure to go by weekly and check them out!

For this, I used some Magistical Memories chipboard (Birds of a Feather), some Heidi Swapp paper, some Fancy Pants paper and ribbon, a Creative Cafe tag, Cuttlebug embossing folder, some American Crafts letter stickers, and a few flowers and buttons from Making Memories.

Speaking of Magistical Memories and Janelle Richmond, you can find Janelle's sketches posted over at the Magistical Memories message board too. She posts a new sketch on the 1st and 16th of the month, and if you play along, you have a chance to win some Magistical Memories chipboard. How fun is that! Be sure to stop over and say hi. We would love to see you there.

Well, that is it for me tonight. We have soccer in the morning, so I need to get up early. Hope you all have a great weekend! :)
