Shimmerz Pink Project

I know... I said I didn't think I would be back before the weekend, but I got working on this project yesterday and I wanted to make sure to post it before the end of the month.

At Shimmerz this month, we wanted to highlight Pink Projects in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I decided to make a card.

I used Shimmerz in Magenta to paint the chipboard letters and a little bit of Shimmerz in Angel Wings to add a little bit of shimmer to the flower. (I know that you can't really see the shimmer on the flower... and I apologize for that. I am still learning how to photograph these shimmery projects. ;) )

I hope this card inspires you to make your own and help to lift the spirits of someone battling this terrible disease.
Don't forget there is still time to upload your Pink Projects using any pink Shimmerz product to the Shimmerz Flickr Group. More details can be found here.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spooky...

Just thought I would hop on here to post a little card I made for the Pink Paislee blog this week. My theme was stamping, so I whipped out my Twilight Impressions stamp set, along with some Twilight papers and Expressions chipboard, and used the little postage stamp to create eyes/O's for my sentiment.

Very quick and easy to do. Not expected and totally fun!

That's it for me tonight. Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Shimmerz and CPS

I was so excited to learn that Shimmerz was the sponsor for CPS this week. Cards are my favorite thing to make and I absolutely love working with sketches, so this was right up my alley! :)

Here is my take on this week's sketch:

For the title, I painted some plain chipboard leatters with Shimmerz in Tickle Me Turquoise. I gave them a good 4-5 coats so the chipboard did not show through.

I also painted the flower with Shimmerz in Key Lime. This gave it just a hint of shimmer and sparkle.

I hope you all get a chance to break out your Shimmerz and play along with the sketch over at CPS this week. It's a fun one!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Are you in a Halloween kind of mood?

Recently I was asked to play along with this week's sketch over at the Get Sketchy blog. I had so much fun with the sketch that I ended up making two cards. I kept with a Halloween theme for both, but one is more of a "pretty" card and other one is more "fun".

First is my "pretty" card. I used paper and a die-cut from Pink Paislee's Twilight collection. I love, love, love this line!

I painted the tips of the flower with Shimmerz Vintage Wine from the new Fall Vintage Collection. It adds just the right amount of color and shimmer to the flower.

Next is my "fun" card. For this, I also used paper and glitter chipboard from Pink Paislee's Twilight collection.

I used Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice, also from the new Fall Vintage Collection. I sprayed in on the chipboard bat pretty generously, and it pooled towards the bottom of the bat giving it a shimmering eeriness. I love the way it turned out!

Well, that is it for me today. Hope you my little cards help to get you in the Halloween spirit. Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Some fun news and a layout to share

Hey everyone. How have you been? Lots going on here. Mostly with kids/school/softball though. I suppose most of you are busy with things of that nature right now. Fun, fun, fun!!!

Recently I was asked to join the Shimmerz design team. Now, I am not a super technique-y kind of person, but I really thought it would be fun, I would get to work with some great products, and I might just learn a thing or two. So how could I say no?! ;)

The layout I have to share with you today is about my daughter, who LOVES music. She her CD player or iPod and headphones wherever she goes. I used tons of Pink Paislee goodies. A mix of items from at least four of their collections. A little Amber Road, Twilight, Mistletoe & Co., and Winsome Fascinating. Who knew they could all blend so well together?!

I also used some Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice from the new Fall Vintage collection. I just love the color and shimmer it added to the chipboard stars!

Well, that is it for me today. Hope you enjoyed this project, and thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
