Mission to Create...

Hey everyone!  Did you all have a great Memorial Day?  Ours was pretty low-key.  We grilled some hot dogs and hamburgers, played some games, and then had some quiet time in the afternoon.  Don't you just love those kinds of days?!

I wanted to come by and share a layout I made for the Mission to Create blog.  Sadly, this is will be their last challenge, but I am very honored that they asked me to participate in it.  I was given five concepts, and my mission was to create a project that used at least three of them.

Here are the concepts I was given:

Deborah - Sunshine & Lollipops
Jocie - Speech bubble
Nicole - Use at least 3 photos
Vanessa - Spring Themed
Roree - Make a flower embellishment 

And here is the layout I created using 3 1/2 of the concepts:

 I got in the sunshine of the Sunshine & Lollipops, the 3+ photos, Spring theme, and the flower embellishments.

 

 I added a lot of hand stitching and created the flowers using my Cricut Expression and Walk in My Garden cartridge.  That one is definitely a fave of mine!

I absolutely loved the quote and knew I had to use it on a project.  So, that's just what I did. 

Here is a layout I did for the Ally Scraps blog:

 I used paper and stickers from Echo Park's Playground collection, along with Jillibean Soup's Corrugated Kraft alphas, Pink Paislee twine, and Cosmo Cricket buttons. 

The alphabet stamps are by Studio G.  (I got from Michaels, I believe.)

  
The top corner looked a little empty, so I added stitching and a short row of buttons and stickers.

How about a little color...

Hey everyone!  I'm stopping by to share a project I made for Amy Heller's Color Splash! Challenge on the October Afternoon blog.  OA products are full of so many bright and wonderful colors, so this was a pretty easy challenge.  ;)

I created a pocket tag mini album (made with my Cricut Expression and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge) with a page for each member of my family.  The pockets are to hold our favorite photos from throughout the year.

When Amy originally shared the challenge with me, it was more about creating a monochromatic project.  I usually have a bit of hard time with monochromatics.  Not sure why, but I do.  So I decided to cheat a little bit.  I put together each page in a monochromatic scheme, but when the pages were put together, it was a rainbow of color.  

 Here are some close-ups of each of the pages:

I used a mix of products from Rocket Age, 5 & Dime, Modern Homemaker, Thrift Shop, Fly a Kite, and Farm Fresh collections.

Pebbles Inc and a Giveaway!!!

Hey everyone!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am.  :)  I came by today to share some projects that I did recently for Pebbles Inc.  I am a guest designer on the Pebbles Inc blog today, and I got to work with some seriously cute products from the Happy-Go-Lucky and Ever After collections.  Perfect for any and all things girly.  (I'm sure you could use it for boys though too.  ;) )

I created two projects using the Happy-Go-Lucky collection.  The first, a layout:

I found these picture of my daughter picking flowers in the backyard when she was 2.    This collection was perfect for them!

 Boy, how I miss those days... 

The next project is a little tin and mini card set:

I just love the fun, happy colors in this line!

Next up are the project using the Ever After collection.  Perfect for any princess!

 I hand cut the banner from patterned paper and adhered it with pop dots to give it a little dimension.

And lastly, a card:

It makes me think of Cinderella.  Love that movie!

Hey everyone!  I'm stopping by to share a project that I made for Pink Paislee today.  My assignment was Creating with The Cricut.  I just LOVE my Cricut machine, so this was a fun one. 

I made a pillow gift box and created a bow to go on top. 

 I used the Wrap It Up cartridge for the pillow box, and the Martha Stewart Crafts Elegant Cake Art cartridge for the border strips used to make the bow.  You can see some tips on how to make the bow along with a list of supplies used over at the Pink Paislee blog here. 

 I added a quick and easy tag to finish it up.

Party!!!

Hey everyone!  Told you I would be back soon.  ;)  I am guesting again this month over at Ally Scraps, and there are going to be lots of Echo Park Playground projects to share with you this month.  For my first set of projects, I made a couple of birthday cards.

First off is a little cupcake card.  Who doesn't love cupcakes?!  

 I cut out the banner from patterned paper and added a few letter stickers in between for the title. 

 
For the next card, I used banners again.  The colors in this Playground collection are so bright and fun, they are perfect for any kind of party theme.  (Or most any other kind of theme, really.  ;) )

  
This time I decorated a little chipboard cupcake by Maya Road to keep with the cupcake theme.

A sketch for you...

Hey everyone!  Just stopping by to share a layout I did recently for October Afternoon.  I was asked to make a sketch for it, so I will be sharing that with you too.  This is the first time I have ever put together a sketch, so I hope you all like it.  ;)

Here is my sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I used strips of patterned paper mixed with hand stitching for the lines in the background. 

I replaced the butterflies in the sketch with buttons to mimic the rock wall we visited on our trip.
